Dial-A-Ride is a curb to curb service provided by Paul Bunyan Transit for Beltrami County residents and visitors. Dial-A-Ride does not provide emergency medical service nor is it run like a taxi service. Other passengers are likely to be picked up or dropped off between your pick-up and destination. Please be patient with this. Weather, traffic and other unforeseen circumstances, which are beyond our control, may delay prompt service.

Hours of Service

Pease note that a bus will be leaving the North side 30 minutes prior to the closing time listed above. This bus will be heading South for the last time. Please schedule your ride accordingly.

Cost to Ride (as of 1/2/04)

Adult - $ 1.25
Outside 10 mile radius - $ 3.00

Child 3-9 yrs old - $0.50
(If accompanied by an adult; otherwise regular rates apply)
Children under 3 years of age ride FREE!

Each additional stop will cost an additional fare.
Exact fare is required. Drivers do not make change.

Bus Passes

Bus passes may be purchased from the bus driver or at 706 Railroad Street SE for the following rates:

Work Pass - $35.00
Rides for work only during the month the pass is purchased.

General: 10 Punch - $12.50
10 rides for the general public.

Discounted: 10 Punch - $10.00
10 rides for senior citizens (60 years of age and older) .

Routes to Debs and Waskish Areas

Rides to Debs, Pinewood, Solway and Wilton are available on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month. Rides to Waskish, Kelliher, Blackduck, Tenstrike and Turtle River are availabe every Friday of the month.

These routes leave in the morning to pick up passengers and return to Bemidji. Return trips to these areas leave Bemidji in the afternoon. Please call to reserve your spot by Tuesday of that week.

Cost for Debs and Waskish is $5.00 roundtrip per person or $3.00 per person one-way.

Fargo Trips

Weekly trips are taken to medical facilities or other stops in the Fargo area. Fares charged for these trips are listed below.

Volunteer Driver Program

The Volunteer Driver Program provides safe, reliable transportation to individuals who are on assistance or have needs that can not be met by our public transit systems. Paul Bunyan Transit works in cooperation with Beltrami County, MNDOT and private pay individuals to transport customers to doctor's appointments, clinics, treatment centers and home visits. Each year, our volunteer drivers travel over 300,000 miles while providing this valuable service. Weekly trips are made to Fargo, Minneapolis, Rochester and other cities in the area.
